"HOMES"

Michigan is similar to an isthmus , except hardly narrow yet is surrounded by water on all sides. HOMES is a simple acronym for the water that surrounds us,  the Great Lakes of  Huron, Ontario, Michigan, Erie and Superior. These lakes represent the world's largest freshwater ecosystem.  These lakes provide drinking water for over 40 Million people. Maybe our state should be called the water belt or freshwater way. What do you think?

Waving Hello

The rustbelt covers a wide range of states and those who are mainly automotive manufacturing and steel industries. These have been the backbone of our country. The erosion of these companies and loss of jobs has lead many to think some of these areas are down and out for the count. Michigan, my state, is a wonderous combination of people, cities and things to do.

Michigan  is a vibrant state that put the world on wheels, moved us to dance in the streets and still has many great things to offer.

I will be covering my experiences and obervations of life in the Metro Detroit area and encourage my readers to share in some of our wonders. Here's a wave from the mitten! If you hold up your right hand in front of your face you will see the state. Metro Detroit is a tri-county area and is about halfway up from your wrist but below your thumb.
